Library Access

An institution subscription provides full access to the Crucible online archive for all your members.

Institution subscriptions start at just £28 and include one print copy of each new journal issue published during your subscription term. Find out more and subscribe.

After purchasing a subscription you will be able to set up access for your members using one or more of these methods:

IP authenticated access

Register your IP address(es) to provide automatic access to the website for your onsite users. Users are signed in to the website automatically - no requirement for a username or password.

1. Sign in to My Account with your administrator login (the email address and password used when purchasing your subscription).

2. On the Institution Admin page select IP Addresses.

3. Add each of your IP address ranges.

Login via EZProxy

If your institution uses EZProxy you can use this to set up remote access for your members.

1. Sign in to My Account with your administrator login (the email address and password used when purchasing your subscription).

2. On the Institution Admin page select IP Addresses.

3. Add your EZProxy IP address.

Access via referring URL

This option allows you to redirect your members to the website from a password-protected page on your own website. Users clicking on the Crucible journal link on your website will be taken straight to this site and signed in automatically.

1. Add a link to https://crucible.hymnsam.co.uk/ to a page on your website. This should be a secure page only your members can access (not a public web page). Ensure you use the full address including the https:// prefix.

2. Sign in to My Account with your administrator login (the email address and password used when purchasing your subscription).

3. On the Institution Admin page select Referring URL.

4. Enter the URL of your webpage (the page you added the Crucible link to) in the box provided.
