Enough is Enough?

Two decades ago former US Vice-President Al Gore famously described the disruption of the climate system by our collective greenhouse gas emissions as an ‘inconvenient truth’ (Gore, 2006). Most inconvenient of all, facing up to the climate crisis forces us to pay attention to the wildly unequal contributions to the crisis by people worldwide. The climate crisis is inescapably a matter of injustice and inequality, posing deep challenges for the affluent, rich and hyper-rich around the world. As the geographer Danny Dorling has said:
