Coming Home: A Theology of Housing is the latest in a series of theological offerings by the Church of England that seek to address pressing social issues of the day. The collection of essays is the fruit of the report of the Archbishops’ Commission on Housing and includes essays from a variety of contributors with the aim of providing ‘stimulation for those Christians working in the housing industry, professional theologians interested in this vital aspect of modern life, and Christians committed to building better communities in their neighbourhoods’ (xvi). Its main achievement is to spell out clearly why, as Christians, we should be concerned about the affordability and availability of decent homes.
