Christian Mindfulness: Theology and practice
SCM Press 2018, 160pp
We all stand on the shoulder of others and acknowledging our indebtedness to the legacy that they have left and this awareness is an important part of our nurture of both realism and gratitude. Peter Tyler played a key part in the development of Christian Spirituality here at Sarum College some years ago. So there were high expectations from this book and certainly they were met in these six carefully crafted chapters. Tyler’s learning, research and ability to communicate are all brought to bear on the understanding and practice of mindfulness. He is immersed is a wide range of literature and the book combines depth with accessibility.
